  • Lightweight
  • Compact design
  • Easy to install and maintain
  • Cost-effective

When applied correctly, O-rings won’t require adjusting & have a long usable lifespan making them a viable choice for many industries. Some common factors that contribute to most O-ring failure include improper installation, inadequate lubrication, abrasion, using the incorrect size or material, or bring exposed to too much or little compression. The professional trade staff here at Renseal can help prevent some of these issues by assisting you in choosing the right O-ring with correct size and durometer for the job. As well as recommending the material that is compatible with your application for temperature, fluid/chemical type, and sealing pressure.

Our team has the expertise to help you select the right O-ring product design, size, and elastomer for your application. Learn more about our huge range O-ring products call to discuss all your sealing requirements.

Select from several material options and durometers from 40 to 90. Offered in standard amber, black, blue, brown, orange, translucent and white colors.

Quad Rings & X-Rings

Quad Rings have an advantage over standard O-rings as the parting lines are between the lobes, away from the sealing surface. This eliminates the problems of leakage that often results from a parting line’s irregular surface as found on an O-Ring. In these cases, X rings provide a better, more uniform seal.

Quad Rings are designed to outperform a standard O-Ring in rotary seal applications. The four-lobed configuration creates a more stable seal avoiding spiral twisting. This allows for a narrower groove width than a standard O-Ring groove. However, it can also be used in a standard O-Ring groove.

Quad Rings have the same dimensions as the AS568A O-Ring sizes, also referred to as standard size O-Rings and are available in a variety of materials. Renseal stocks Quad rings and X-rings in standard Buna/Nitrile 70 durometer black. Quad rings and X-rings are also available in numerous elastomer options in either black, blue, or rust/orange. Durometers range from 30 to 90 and cross-section dimensions range from 1/16” to 1/4”. ID sizes range from 1/32” to 26”.

Back-Up Rings / Anti Extrusion Rings

Back-up rings are also known as anti-extrusion rings. They have been used for many years in conjunction with O-Rings in high pressure applications.

A back-up ring is a rigid ring that holds an elastomeric seal to its designed shape and in its correct place. Back-up rings are often used with O-Rings to prevent extrusion at high pressures. Back-up rings should generally be used for dynamic applications over 100 bar, and static applications around 950 bar. Each application can vary, therefore it is essential to use this as a general guideline only.

Hydraulic Seals

YDRAULIC SEALS AND PNEUMATIC SEALS ARE DESIGNED AS PER THE CYLINDER WORKING PRESSURE, CYLINDER SPEED, AND OPERATING TEMPERATURE

Hydraulic seals are generally relatively soft, non-metallic rings captured in groove or fixed in a combination of rings, forming a seal assembly, to block or separate fluid in reciprocating motion applications. Hydraulic seals are vital in machinery. Hydraulic seals can be made from a variety of materials such as polyurethane, rubber or PTFE. The type of material is determined by the operating conditions or limits due to fluid type, pressure, fluid chemical compatibility or temperature.

Example of these are:

  • Rod Seals
  • Piston Seals
  • Wiper Seals
  • Wear Rings

Renseal can supply seals for single and double acting cylinders, compact seals and composite piston seals, symmetrical seals, independent wear rings, bonded seals and static seals, such as O rings. As well as telescopic seals.

Our Range of Metric O-Rings

We can supply O-ring products in standard metric sizes based on International Standard ISO 3601-1:2002 and custom metric O-rings in a broad range of sizes & cross-sections. Our metric O-ring seals are available in various elastomers to meet a variety of operating requirements & temperatures up to 450°F (232°C). Durometer options range from 40 to 90, with custom hardness also available. Colors include black, brown, rust/orange, translucent, and custom.

Spliced & Vulcanized O-Rings

Spliced O-ring seals are an excellent alternative for applications where a standard O-ring cannot be used. Our spliced O-rings are made from an extruded O-ring cord that is vulcanized to form a seamless joint. We produce spliced and vulcanized O-ring seals in English or Metric sizes, including custom IDs, and in several elastomers.

EMI-Shielded O-Rings & Seals

Have the benefits of both sealing and shielding with EMI-shielded O-ring products, including seals, O-rings, and molded parts. These seals are made with conductive, particle-filled elastomers and ideal across electronics applications.

Vulcanised Rings & Scarf Jointed Rings

Vulcanised rings are used in many markets across diverse applications and its versatility properties. The process of scarf joining & vulcanising can produce O Rings of virtually any size without the need for tooling. Vulcanised O Rings are readily available in Cross Sections from 1.78mm – 25.4mm, with larger cross sections available on request.

Materials available include:

  • Viton®, Nitrile, EPDM, Silicone, Neoprene®, HNBR, Aflas®, Viton® Extreme.
  • FDA grades of EPDM, Silicone & Viton® as well as USP Class VI EPDM readily available.
  • Low temperature FKM, high fluorine FKM or vacuum quality semiconductor FKM are also available

V-Rings Seals / Axial Seal for Shafts & Bearings

V-rings seal axially against a counter-face. This type of seal has proved to be reliable and effective against dust, dirt, water and oil.

V-ring shaft seals provide effective protection against dry and wet contamination. The V-ring also reduces wear and extends the service life of the oil seal and bearings. The V-ring also performs well in dry running applications. Being rubber and very elastic, it can be stretched over flanges or other components for easy installation.

V-A

A V-rings with bevel back serves as a pressure less, axial rod seal with a very short mounting length, which is clamped on a shaft. The flexible sealing lip seals a counter face at a right angle to the shaft preventing dirt, dust and splash to enter the construction. Available in the widest range of sizes from .110″ (2.7mm) shaft to 79.530″ (2020mm) nitrile and fluoro elastomer. Ideal for protecting gearboxes, electric motors and drives.

V-S

S V-rings with bevel back serves as a pressure-less, axial rod seal which is clamped on a shaft. The flexible sealing lip seals a counter face at a right angle to the shaft, preventing dirt, dust and splash to enter the construction. Available in sizes from .180″ (4.5mm) shaft to 8.270″ (210mm). Commonly used in agricultural and automotive applications

V-L

L V-rings with straight back serves as a pressure-less axial rod seal with a very small mounting length, which is clamped on the shaft. The flexible sealing lip seals at a right angle to the shaft preventing dirt, dust and splash to enter the construction.

FEP Encapsulated O-rings

FEP encapsulated O-rings are recommended when a standard O-ring has inadequate chemical resistance for an application. They are also recommended when a solid PTFE O-ring does not have the elasticity for reliable, long term fluid sealing. They are often used where chemical resistance and or hygiene is required.

Typical industries include:

  • Chemical.
  • Petrochemical.
  • Food.
  • Pharmaceutical.

O-Ring Cord

O ring cord is supplied as a continuous extruded cord and can be used to make custom sized O-Rings when standard sizes are not suitable. We provide O-ring cord in bulk or spliced and vulcanized into custom O-ring seals. Features of our O-Ring cord include standard round cord, quad/x-ring cord, or square cord. Renseal have an expanding stock range of both Silicone and EPDM cords. Our vast availability of cord stocks ensures that we can provide same day despatch and next day delivery at competitive prices.
